Bob Wyss, a former Providence Journal environmental and energy reporter and editor, is the author of “Black Gold: The Rise, Reign, and Fall of American Coal,” which was released within the last couple of weeks. WUN’s Frank Prosnitz recently spoke with Wyss, who will be at Charter Books on Oct. 17.
Overlap gallery will present “Forging Freedom: Atlantic Journeys,” an exhibition exploring Black and Indigenous histories through the work of 10 contemporary artists, with proceeds benefiting the Newport Historical Society’s Edward W. Kane and Martha J. Wallace Center for Black History.
