On this day in 1917: Father Edward J. Flanagan founded Boys Town as a farm village for wayward boys in Omaha.

Today, Boys Town New England has four Family Homes at its Bazarsky Campus in Portsmouth, which serve adolescents and young children. The site also offers Foster Family Services, In-Home family Services, and Community Support Services.

Their website shows nearly 21,500 children were served and impacted by Boys Town New England services in 2023.
