Good Morning, Newport!

The University of Rhode Island is asking Rhode Islanders to join the MyCoast: Rhode Island king tide monitoring effort to help document the effect that extreme tide events have on state beaches, coastal waterways, private property, and public infrastructure.
🌊 April is sexual assault awareness month. What’sUpNewp’s Frank Prosnitz had an opportunity to sit down with Alana Sacks, board president of Haven Box, a relatively new organization whose mission is to provide immediate and long-term services to survivors of sexual assault.
🌊 The Newport Beer Festival was held at Fort Adams State Park on Saturday. Ken Abrams shares a recap and photo gallery from the event.
🌊 It’s a question Tyler Bernadyn hears all the time: “What’s my house worth?” And more often than not, it’s followed by, “Zillow says…”. Tyler has more on why Zillow isn’t your most accurate resource.
🌊 Newport City Council will host a workshop today at 5:30 pm on the Budget Overview. Topics will include General Fund REvenues, Capital Projects, Personnel Changes, Civic Support, City Manager (human resources and communications), and General Government (finance, canvassing, and city clerk).
